HOMEGROWN RELIABILITY

Every day our staff proudly make Devinci bikes in our Canadian factory. We firmly believe in making the most reliable, highest-performing bike, backed by a lifetime warranty, that’s worth every penny. Our commitment to quality and value means we make the right bike in the right factory. Sometimes the right factory is overseas. So, while we don’t make ALL of our bikes in Canada, we make MOST of them here.

OUR PROCESS : CANADIAN EXPERTISE

Our expertise in aluminum bike production is both our strength and our commitment. We design, develop, test, and manufacture our bikes right here in Canada — a globally unique approach. Every step of our manufacturing process reflects over 35 years of experience, combining complexity with uncompromising precision.

PHASE 1 | RAW MATERIAL

PHASE 1 | RAW MATERIAL

We receive raw aluminum, ready to be transformed into the frames we create.

PHASE 2 | SIZING TUBES

PHASE 2 | SIZING TUBES

Raw aluminum and hydroformed tubes are cut to specific size in preparation for the frame structure to be welded. This process is achieved through CNC machining, laser cutting, and hand cutting techniques, with all final tubes being inspected for precision via a pre-set jig before heading to the welding station.

PHASE 3 | WELDING

PHASE 3 | WELDING

Raw parts are welded by hand via TIG process to develop the frame in raw condition. Welding tools are pre-adjusted to compensate for deformations of geometry that occur during the welding process. Alignment jigs are used to correct any discrepancies in geometry prior to thermal treatment & final alignment.

PHASE 4 | ALIGNMENT

PHASE 4 | ALIGNMENT

Alignment jigs are used to correct any geometric irregularities before heat treatment and final alignment. Over twenty measurements and alignment corrections are performed to ensure the frame delivers flawless ride quality.

PHASE 5 | THERMAL TREATMENT

PHASE 5 | THERMAL TREATMENT

Welded frames go through a heat treatment process, reaching 500°C to strengthen the aluminum properties and welded joints. While still warm, the frames are aligned in jigs to ensure the geometry matches the intended specifications, then cured at 200°C.

PHASE 6 | MACHINING

PHASE 6 | MACHINING

Final parts are machined last to ensure exact precision — including the boring of the head tube, seat tube, and pivots, as well as threading of the bottom bracket shell.

PHASE 7 | PAINT

PHASE 7 | PAINT

Aligned frames are powder-coated, then placed in an oven to cure both the paint and clear coat, before receiving their final decals and graphics ahead of full assembly.

PHASE 8 | TESTING & QUALITY CONTROL

PHASE 8 | TESTING & QUALITY CONTROL

For each production batch, we carry out a series of rigorous tests and thorough quality control checks to ensure both flawless finish and optimal frame performance.

PHASE 9 | ASSEMBLY

PHASE 9 | ASSEMBLY

Following these steps, we complete the final frame assembly, install the components, and box everything up—ready to be shipped to our network of retailers.

PHASE 10 | RIDE

PHASE 10 | RIDE

We’re proud to say that we manufacture more bikes in Canada than anyone else. But we’re even more proud of the way they ride.

OUR MADE-IN-CANADA BIKES

Mountain bikes have come a long way in just a few decades and now a process that was once trial and error is a dialed system, equal parts science and art. Devinci Cycles, based out of Chicoutimi, Quebec, is a company that takes pride in their locally sourced aluminum, in-house fabrication and rigorous safety standards, all of which culminate in high-quality frames with a well-deserved “Made in Canada” sticker. Take a look at every step of the process, from design to powder coating, in this episode of "Made With Love."
