Returning to one of her favourite venues, Elly Hoskin claimed a hard-fought second place at Round 5 of the UCI Enduro World Cup in Aletsch Arena, Switzerland.
There are places where everything just seems to click. For Elly Hoskin, Aletsch Arena is one of them.
Nestled in the heart of the Swiss Alps beneath the breathtaking Aletsch Glacier, Round 5 of the UCI Enduro World Cup delivered a true test of modern enduro racing. For the first time in several seasons, the event returned to a two-day race format following two full days of practice. Eight demanding stages, long alpine transfers, steep and technical descents, and warm summer conditions with the constant threat of thunderstorms combined to create a weekend that challenged riders physically as much as mentally.
Despite spending the entire week battling illness, Elly proved once again why she is one of the world's top enduro racers.
Aboard her Devinci Spartan, the reigning World Champion wasted no time setting the pace, claiming victory on four of the weekend's eight stages. Fast, precise, and remarkably consistent from start to finish, she managed her effort over both race days to secure an impressive second-place finish and her first podium of the season.
Beyond the result itself, it was the way she achieved it that stood out. On a course where every mistake costs valuable seconds and fatigue builds with each stage, Elly delivered a composed, determined, and confident ride—another performance that showcased both her resilience and the capabilities of the Spartan on the world stage.
This place always brings out the best. First podium of the year for me at my favourite venue and I couldn't be more happy. Was sick all week and knew it was going to be a challenge, so I gave it my best crack. Taking home four of eight stage wins feels unbelievable, and I'm so proud to have been consistent all weekend.
This return to the podium is yet another reminder of Elly's speed and the Spartan's capabilities on the most demanding tracks of the Enduro World Cup circuit. It's the perfect way to head into the final stretch of the season, carrying plenty of confidence and momentum into the series finale in France next month.
